Ribbed Crochet Blanket Pattern

Materials:

  • Yarn: Bulky weight yarn in charcoal gray (approximately 1500 yards)
  • Crochet hook: Size L (8.0 mm)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Gauge:

4 stitches x 4 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • fpdc: front post double crochet

Instructions:

  1. Foundation Row: Ch 102 (or any multiple of 4 + 2 for desired width). Turn.
  2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and each across. Ch 2, turn.
  3. Row 2: Dc in first st, *fpdc around next st, dc in next st*, repeat from * to * across. Ch 2, turn.
  4. Row 3: Dc in first st, *fpdc around next st, dc in next st*, repeat from * to * across. Ch 1, turn.
  5. Repeat Row 3 until the blanket measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length.
  6. Last Row: Sc in each st across. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing:

Block your blanket to the desired dimensions to smooth out and shape your stitches evenly.
