Whimsical Textured Striped Cardigan Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted Weight (4) Yarn in two color palettes (choose your favorite) - approximately 1000 yards total.
• H/5.0mm Crochet Hook
• Yarn Needle
• Scissors
• 3 Stitch Markers
• 5 Buttons (1 inch wide)

Gauge:

14 stitches x 17 rows = 4 inches in the main stitch pattern.

• Small (Medium, Large, XL, XXL)

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch
• rep = repeat

Pattern Instructions:

Body:

Starting with Color A:

1. Ch 65 (70, 75, 80, 85) for the back. Turn.
2. Row 1: (Main Stitch Pattern) *1sc, 2dc in next st; rep from * across. Turn. (65, 70, 75, 80, 85 sts)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st. Turn.
4. Change to Color B:
5. Continue with stripes in the Main Stitch Pattern for 8 rows (4 in A, 4 in B). Repeat for 4 sections.
6. When reaching the armholes, ch 10 to create space and then continue the Main Stitch Pattern. Repeat for 4 rows.
7. Fasten off and move to sleeves.

Sleeves:

For each sleeve, starting with Color A:

1. Ch 30 (35, 40, 45, 50), turn.
2. Row 1: (Main Stitch Pattern) *1sc, 2dc in next st; rep from * across. Turn.
3. Continue in the Main Stitch Pattern for 20 rows (or until desired length).
4. Fasten off.

Assembly:

1. Attach sleeves to the body with 4 stitches on each side, leaving gaps for the armholes.
2. Join with sl st along the side seam.
3. Attach buttons along the button band (5 total) for closure.
4. Weave in all ends and block garment to shape.
