Crochet Classic Textured Ribbed Sweater Free Pattern

Materials Needed:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn, approximately 1000-1500 yards depending on size
- Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
14 stitches and 12 rows in half double crochet = 4 inches
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- hdc: half double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- sc: single crochet
- blo: back loop only
Pattern:
Front and Back Panels (make 2):
- Ch 70 (80, 90, 100, 110).
- Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn. (68, 78, 88, 98, 108)
- Rows 2-50 (or desired length): Ch 2, hdc in blo in each st across. Turn.
Sleeves (make 2):
- Ch 30 (35, 40, 45, 50).
- Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn. (28, 33, 38, 43, 48)
- Rows 2-40 (or desired length): Ch 2, hdc in blo in each st across. Turn.
Assembly:
- Place front and back panels together, with wrong sides facing. Sew shoulder seams.
- Attach sleeves to armholes, sew seams using tapestry needle.
- Sew side and sleeve seams. Turn sweater inside out.
Edging and Ribbing:
- Neckline: Join yarn at one shoulder seam. Ch 1, sc evenly around neckline, join with sl st.
- Ribbed Hem: Attach yarn to bottom edge, ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, sl st to next 2 sts on sweater hem. Turn. Work sc blo in each st across, turn. Repeat this ribbing around hemline.
- Cuffs: Repeat ribbing technique for cuffs, adjusting length to fit.
Fasten off and weave in all ends neatly.
