Crochet Warm Textured Leaf Stitch Sweater Free Pattern
Materials:
- Super bulky yarn #6 (700 yards)
- 8mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge:
6 stitches x 6 rows = 4 inches in leaf stitch pattern.
Instructions:
Body Panels:
Make 2 identical panels.
- Chain 41.
- Row 1: In the 2nd chain from hook, hdc. Hdc across (40 hdc).
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn. In the first stitch, hdc. *In the next stitch, make 3 hdc, skip 2, repeat from * across, ending with hdc in the last stitch.
- Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 22 inches from the beginning.
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Joining Panels:
Align the two panels and sew together at the shoulders using a whip stitch.
Sleeves:
Make 2 sleeves.
- Chain 31.
- Row 1: Hdc across (30 hdc).
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Hdc across.
- Repeat Row 2 until the sleeve measures 18 inches.
- Fasten off and leave a tail.
Assembling the Sweater:
- Attach the sleeves to the body of the sweater using a whip stitch, aligning seams.
- Sew the sides of the sweater from the hem to the underarm of each sleeve.
Pockets:
Make 2 pockets.
- Chain 20.
- Row 1: Hdc across (19 hdc).
- Row 2: Repeat until the pocket is 10 inches tall.
- Fasten off and sew pockets to the front of the sweater at desired height.
Neckline:
Join yarn at the neck and crochet around with a row of hdc, joining at the end. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in all ends and enjoy your new cozy sweater!
