Crochet Versatile Textured Wrap Sweater
Materials Needed:
- Chunky weight yarn (approx. 800 yards)
- Size N (10 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Measuring tape
- Stitch markers
Stitch Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- fl = front loop only
Gauge:
8 dc = 4 inches in textured stitch pattern.
Pattern Instructions:
Body
- Make a slip knot, chain 60 (or desired width for the wrap).
- Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook. Dc in each ch across (58 dc). Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), *dc in fl of each dc across. Turn.*
- Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 25 inches long or desired length for the wrap.
Building The Sleeve Openings
- Ch 2, dc in the first fl.
- Row 1: Work 2 dc in the fl for the next 2 stitches, then continue working in the fl until 2 dc remain. Work next 2 dc together (decrease).
- Repeat this until you achieve the desired width of the sleeves, about 10-12 inches.
Finishing
- Fasten off leaving a long tail. Using a yarn needle, seam the edges together to create sleeve seams.
- Optionally, add buttonholes by chaining three and skipping the same number of stitches at interval points along the edge.
- Weave in all loose ends.
- Block the sweater lightly to shape.
