Sizes:

This pattern fits sizes from XS to 5XL. Adjust starting chains as needed for a perfect fit.

Pattern Notes:

This sweater is constructed in two main panels: front and back. The sleeves will be added after the body is complete. Choose to make it longer or shorter as per your preference.

Stitch Pattern:

This design uses a combination of double crochet and front post double crochet to create a textured effect.

Instructions:

Front Panel:

  1. Ch 82 (or a number that fits your size). Do not turn.
  2. Row 1: Work 1 DC in each chain across. (82 DC)
  3. Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first DC), *FPDC in next stitch, DC in next stitch; repeat from * across, end with 1 DC in the last stitch. (82 stitches)
  4. Repeat Row 2 until the panel measures 24” or desired length. Fasten off.

Back Panel:

  1. Repeat instructions for the front panel. However, adjust the length if desired for a slightly longer back piece. Fasten off.

Sewing Panels Together:

  1. Align both panels, with the right sides facing each other.
  2. Using a tapestry needle, sew the shoulders together using a whip stitch (about 5-7 inches from the side).
  3. Repeat for the sides of the sweater, leaving space for armholes (approx. 10 inches). Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Sleeves:

  1. For each sleeve, ch 40. Do not turn.
  2. Row 1: Work 1 DC in each chain across. (40 DC)
  3. Row 2: Ch 2, *FPDC in next, DC in next; repeat from * across. (40 stitches)
  4. Continue Rows 2 until sleeve measures 18” or desired length. Fasten off.
  5. Attach sleeves to sweater body at the armholes, ensuring seams match.

Collar:

  1. Ch 80. Do not turn.
  2. Join to form a loop. Work 1 round of DC around collar. This finishes and gives a beautiful edge.
  3. Slip stitch to join. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Finishing:

Block the sweater to size if necessary and enjoy your new cozy creation!
