Crochet Textured Harvest Gourd Trio

This pattern will guide you through creating a lovely trio of textured harvest gourds perfect for your fall decor. Utilizing a mix of bobble and rib stitches, these gourds add a delightful surface texture that captures the essence of autumn.

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in three colors – Choose a base color and two accent colors
Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Polyester stuffing or cotton filling (optional)
Wooden or faux stems (optional)

Gauge:

Gauge can be flexible; however, aim for approximately 12 stitches x 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) square in single crochet.

Sizes:

Small Gourd: 3" diameter
Medium Gourd: 4" diameter
Large Gourd: 5" diameter

Pattern:

Small Gourd:

Round 1: Ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring. 
Round 2: Ch 1, 10 sc in ring (10)
Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st* repeat from * around (15)
Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st* repeat from * around (20)
Round 5: *sc in next st, bobble in next st* repeat from * around (20)
Round 6: sc in each st around (20)
Rounds 7-9: Repeat Round 6.
Finish: Stuff lightly if desired, then fasten off and weave in ends.

Medium and Large Gourds: For medium and large gourds, increase the foundation row accordingly and follow the same stitch pattern, adjusting rounds to maintain the texture. Use more stitches in the increasing rounds to allow for the larger diameter.

Final Assembly:

If using wooden or faux stems, carefully attach them to the top of each gourd with a yarn needle and securely weave them into the top stitches. Arrange your gourds together as a stunning centerpiece for your autumn decor!
