Body

Foundation chain: 90 (120)

Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 4 ch, *ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next 5 ch; repeat from * until last 3 ch, dc in last 3 ch. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, *ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next 5 dc; repeat from * across, dc in top of ch 3. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 22 (26) inches from foundation chain.

Sides

To shape the armholes, decrease by 1 stitch at each end of the next 2 rows. Continue with the lace pattern until the section measures 14 (18) inches.

Collar

Switch to a 5 mm hook and attach yarn at the neckline. Work 2 rows of sc, then 1 row of (dc, ch 1) around neckline. Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in all ends. If desired, add buttons along the front edge for a secure closure.
