Instructions:

Front Piece:

  1. Ch 88 for XS size (increase for larger sizes as needed).
  2. Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from the hook and in each chain across. (85 DC)
  3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 DC), turn, DC in next stitch, *change color to Light Brown, DC in 2 stitches, change back to Cream, repeat from * until the last 2 DC, end with 2 DC in Cream.
  4. Repeat Row 2, changing colors as follows: 2 rows of Light Brown, 2 rows of Red, and continue alternating until you reach the armholes (about 16 inches long).
  5. For the reindeer motif, follow a simple graph pattern (not included) or use your own design. Change colors as necessary to create the jolly reindeer.
  6. When the body measures approximately 22 inches, shape armholes by decreasing 2 stitches at both ends for 2 rows.
  7. Finish the top with 2 rows of single crochet to create a neat edge.

Back Piece:

  1. Work as per the front piece but without the motif.

Sleeves (Make 2):

  1. Ch 48 for XS size.
  2. Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from the hook and each across. (45 DC)
  3. Continue in the same stitch pattern, adding color as desired until the sleeve measures 18 inches long.
  4. Shape the sleeve by decreasing 2 stitches at both ends for 2 rows towards the cuff. Finish with 2 rows of single crochet for a neat border.

Assembly:

  1. Join the front and back at the shoulders using slip stitch.
  2. Attach sleeves to armholes, ensuring to match the stitch counts. Sew or slip stitch in place.
  3. For the neckline, create a simple border with single crochet if desired.

Finishing Touches:

Weave in any loose ends with a tapestry needle. Block the sweater lightly to ensure an even shape. Enjoy your festive creation!
