Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in your choice of colors (A: main color, B: contrast color) - approximately 800 yards total
• Size J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Gauge:

4 stitches and 4 rows in double crochet = 4 inches.

Size:

About 48 inches in diameter.

• ch = chain
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch

Pattern Instructions:

Center Starburst:

1. With Color A, make a magic circle.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into the circle. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 3, *dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (18 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 3, *dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (24 dc)

Starburst Rounds:

1. Change to Color B.
2. Round 4: Ch 3, *dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (30 dc)
3. Round 5: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. Join with sl st.
4. Round 6: Change to Color A. Ch 3, *dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (36 dc)
5. Repeat the last two rounds, alternating colors, until you reach a total diameter of 48 inches, ending with Round 5.

Final Edging:

1. With Color B, sc around the entire perimeter of the skirt, placing 3 sc in each corner segment.
2. Fasten off and weave in all loose ends.
