Breezy Textured Summer Pullover

Materials

  • Sport weight yarn (approximately 400-500 yards)
  • Hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Measuring tape

Gauge

16 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in double crochet pattern.

Sizes

This pattern is written for sizes S (M, L, XL). Adjust accordingly for different sizes.

Stitches Used

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Shell stitch (5 dc in the same stitch)
  • Single crochet (sc)

Pattern

Body

  1. Foundation: Ch 60 (70, 80, 90) stitches.
  2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), *shell stitch (5 dc in next stitch), skip 2 stitches; repeat from * to end, dc in last stitch. Turn.
  4. Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, *shell in the center of the next shell; repeat from * to end, dc in last stitch. Turn.
  5. Repeat Rows 2-3 until the piece measures 18 inches (20, 22, 24) from the foundation row.
  6. For the armholes, ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Fasten off.

Sleeves (Make 2)

  1. Foundation: Ch 30 (35, 40, 45) stitches.
  2. Follow the same stitch pattern as for the body for 12 inches (14, 16, 18).
  3. Ch 1, sc in each stitch for the final row. Fasten off.

Assembly

  1. Attach sleeves to the body at the armholes, aligning the edges.
  2. Seam using slip stitch or whip stitch for a clean finish.
  3. For the neckline, create a round of sc to finish off.
  4. Weave in all ends securely.
