Breezy Boho Lace Overlay Cardigan
Materials:
- DK weight yarn (5-7 balls depending on size)
- 5mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Measuring tape
Gauge:
16 double crochets and 8 rows = 4 inches in lace pattern.
Sizes:
Available in sizes XS to 5XL.
Stitch Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- sp: space
- tr: triple crochet
Instructions:
Back Panel:
- Chain 120 (or a multiple of 6 for size adjustment).
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc across (117 dc).
- Row 2: Ch 3, turn. *Skip 2 dc, (tr, ch 1) in next dc; repeat from * across (ending with dc in last dc).
- Row 3: Ch 3, turn. *In the ch 1 sp, (dc, ch 1) for lace repeat; repeat from * across.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until reaching desired length (approximately 30” for long cardigan).
Front Panels (Make 2):
- Chain 64 (or needed width for size adjustment).
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc across (61 dc).
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 as for back panel, finished to match length.
Sleeves (Make 2):
- Chain 42.
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc across (39 dc).
- Row 2: Ch 3, turn. *Skip 2 dc, (tr, ch 1) in next dc; repeat from * across.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for 12 inches or desired sleeve length.
Assembly:
- Lay the back panel flat. Align front panels along edges and sew together.
- Attach sleeves to armholes, sewing along the edges.
- Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.
Finishing:
Block the cardigan to shape and enhance the lace. Add a decorative fringe or border around the edges if desired.
