Chevron Lace Knit Scarf
Materials
- Yarn: Light worsted weight yarn (Category 3), approximately 300 yards in light teal.
- Needles: US Size 8 (5.0mm) knitting needles.
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
- Scissors.
Gauge
20 sts x 28 rows = 4 inches in lace pattern (after blocking).
Abbreviations
- k: knit
- p: purl
- yo: yarn over
- k2tog: knit two together
- ssk: slip, slip, knit
- rep: repeat
Instructions
Pattern Setup
Cast on 42 stitches.
Chevron Lace Pattern
- Row 1 (RS): k3, *yo, k2tog, k3, ssk, yo*, rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
- Row 2 (WS): purl all stitches.
- Row 3 (RS): k3, *ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog*, rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
- Row 4 (WS): purl all stitches.
Repeat these 4 rows until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches, or your desired length.
Finishing
Bind off all stitches loosely. Weave in ends using the tapestry needle. Block lightly to open up the lace pattern.
