Chevron Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in mint green and cream (approximately 600 yards of each color)
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5 mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
12 stitches and 8 rows = 4 inches in double crochet
Abbreviations
- ch - chain
- dc - double crochet
- st(s) - stitch(es)
- sk - skip
- rep - repeat
Instructions
Foundation Row
- With mint green, ch 145 (or a multiple of 24 + 1).
Row 1
- Dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as first dc), dc in next 4 ch, 3 dc in next ch, dc in next 11 ch, sk 2 ch, dc in next 11 ch, 3 dc in next ch; rep from to across, ending with dc in each of last 5 ch, turn.
Row 2
- Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), sk first st, *dc in next 4 sts, 3 dc in next st, dc in next 11 sts, sk 2 sts, dc in next 11 sts; rep from * across, ending with dc in each of last 5 sts, turn.
Row 3-10
- Rep Row 2.
Color Change
- Switch to cream yarn and rep Row 2 for the next 10 rows.
Continue the Pattern
Alternate between mint green and cream every 10 rows until the blanket measures approximately 36 inches from starting edge, ending with mint green.
Edging
- With mint green, work 1 row of dc evenly around the entire blanket, placing 3 dc in each corner, and sl st to join. Fasten off and weave in all ends with the tapestry needle.
Finishing
Block your finished blanket gently to smooth out the stitches and enhance the chevron design.
