Lacy Fingerless Gloves

Materials

• 4 oz of worsted weight yarn in soft pink (recommended: 100% acrylic or wool blend)
• Size 5 mm (H) crochet hook
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors

Gauge

12 stitches and 15 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.

Instructions

Make a Foundation Chain

Ch 30. This will create the base for the wrist opening.

Row 1

Dc in the 4th ch from the hook (this counts as your first dc), then dc in each ch across. (Total: 28 dc). Turn your work.

Row 2

Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the next st, *ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in the next st; repeat from * across. Finish with a dc in the top of the turning ch. (Total: 14 clusters with ch 1 spaces). Turn your work.

Row 3

Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the first ch-1 space, *ch 1, dc into the next ch-1 space; repeat from * across. Finish with a dc in the top of the turning ch. (Total: 28 dc). Turn your work.

Row 4 to 10

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until you have completed a total of 7 stripe sections, finishing with a row of dc. (Total: 10 rows).

Making the Thumb Opening

Next, you will create the thumb opening. In the next row, find the center of your work and skip 5 stitches for the thumb gap.

Row 11

Ch 3, dc in each st across until you reach the skipped stitches, ch 5 to create the gap, skip the next 5 stitches, and dc in the remaining stitches. Turn your work (Total: 28 dc).

Row 12 to 15

Continue working in the same stitch pattern (dc across with the thumb gap) for 5 more rows.

Ending the Gloves

After completing the final row, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Turn the glove inside out and seam the sides using slip stitches or whip stitch, making sure to keep the thumb gap open.

Finishing Touches

Weave in any loose yarn ends using your yarn needle. Feel free to add a scalloped edge by making a few single crochets along the top edge near the fingers, if desired.
