Whimsical Spooky Gnome Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
Skill Level: Intermediate
Finished Size: Approximately 5 inches tall
Yarn: Medium weight #4 acrylic yarn in colors: Black, Orange, and Cream
Hook: 4.5 mm (G) and 3.5 mm (E) for smaller details
Materials:
- Yarn of your color choice for gnome
- Sewing needle for attaching parts
- Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
- Craft buttons or beads for eyes
- Hot glue gun (optional, for decorations)
Abbreviations:
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase (two single crochet in one stitch)
- dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
- sl st – slip stitch
- rnd – round
- hdc – half double crochet
Pattern Instructions:
Body:
1. With black yarn, make a magic ring. 2. Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6) 3. Rnd 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12) 4. Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, inc* repeat around. (18) 5. Rnds 4-6: Sc in each st around. (18) 6. Rnd 7: *Sc in next st, dec* repeat around. (12) 7. Rnd 8: Sc in each st around. (12) 8. Stuff the body with fiberfill and continue to Rnd 9. 9. Rnd 9: Dec around. (6) 10. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Hat:
1. With black yarn, make a magic ring. 2. Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring. (8) 3. Rnd 2: Inc in each stitch around. (16) 4. Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, inc* repeat around. (24) 5. Rnd 4-8: Sc in each st around. (24) 6. Rnd 9: *Sc in next st, dec* repeat around. (16) 7. Rnd 10: Sl st to finish the hat and leave a long tail for sewing.
Pumpkin:
1. With orange yarn, make a magic ring. 2. Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6) 3. Rnd 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12) 4. Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, inc* repeat around. (18) 5. Rnd 4: Sc in each st around, leave a tail for closing.
Assembly:
1. Attach the hat to the body using a yarn needle. 2. Sew on the pumpkin next to one side of the gnome’s body. 3. Use buttons or beads for eyes and secure them with hot glue if using. 4. Weave in all loose ends to finish your gnome off neatly.
