Crochet Adorable Heart Gnome Amigurumi Ornament Free Pattern

Materials:

• Medium weight #4 cotton yarn in pink, gray, red, white, and beige
• US size 7/4.5 mm crochet hook
• US size 1/2.75 mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Sewing needle
• Matching sewing threads
• Craft snowflake buttons and beads (optional for decoration)

Abbreviations:

• Ch – chain
• DC – double crochet
• HDC – half double crochet
• Rnd – round
• SC – single crochet
• Sl St – slip stitch

Instructions:

Hat:

1. Using pink yarn and 4.5 mm hook, Ch 2. Work 6 SC in second chain from hook. (6 sts)
2. Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12 sts)
3. Rnd 3: (SC in next st, 2 SC in next st) around. (18 sts)
4. Continue to increase each round by 6 sts, as established, until the hat measures about 5 inches in height.
5. Fasten off and weave in ends.
6. Embellish with small red hearts, sewing them onto the hat evenly spaced.

Body:

1. Using gray yarn and 4.5 mm hook, Ch 2. Work 6 SC in second chain from hook. (6 sts)
2. Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12 sts)
3. Rnd 3: (SC in next st, 2 SC in next st) around. (18 sts)
4. Rnd 4-12: SC in each st around. (18 sts)
5. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Beard and Nose:

1. For the beard, cut multiple lengths of white yarn (3 inches each) and attach them across the front of the body.
2. For the nose, use beige yarn and 2.75 mm hook, Ch 2. Work 6 SC in second chain from hook and fasten off.
3. Sew the nose over the top edge of the beard.

Heart:

1. Using red yarn and 2.75 mm hook, Ch 4. Work 2 TR in the first chain. Turn.
2. In the same first chain: 3 DC, Ch 1, 1 TR, Ch 1, 3 DC, 2 TR, Ch 3.
3. Sl St into the center of the ring to form the heart shape and fasten off.
4. Sew the heart onto the front of the gnome, between the beard and base.

Arms:

1. Using pink yarn and 2.75 mm hook, Ch 2. Work 6 SC in second chain from hook. (6 sts)
2. Rnd 2-5: SC in each st around. (6 sts)
3. Fasten off and sew the arms on both sides, with the hands holding the heart.

Finishing:

1. Sew the hat onto the top of the gnome snugly.
2. Attach a loop of yarn for hanging at the top of the hat.
3. Embellish with additional buttons or beads if desired.
