Crochet Whimsical Pastel Twinkling Moon Amigurumi Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn in pastel yellow, pastel blue, and white
  • 4mm crochet hook
  • Black safety eyes (10mm)
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch marker (optional)

Abbreviations:

  • CH = Chain
  • SC = Single Crochet
  • INC = Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
  • DEC = Decrease (2 SC together)
  • SL ST = Slip Stitch
  • ST = Stitch

Instructions:

Moon Body:

  1. With pastel yellow yarn, create a magic circle.
  2. Round 1: CH 1, 6 SC in the magic circle (6)
  3. Round 2: INC in each stitch around (12)
  4. Round 3: (1 SC, INC) repeat around (18)
  5. Round 4: (2 SC, INC) repeat around (24)
  6. Round 5-10: SC in each stitch around (24)
  7. Round 11: (2 SC, DEC) repeat around (18)
  8. Round 12: (1 SC, DEC) repeat around (12)
  9. Stuff the moon firmly and continue to decrease:
  10. Round 13: DEC around (6)
  11. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Moon Face:

  1. With white yarn, attach to the middle of the moon to create a crescent shape.
  2. Ch 14, turn and SC back along the chain.
  3. Attach to the top of the moon with a SL ST.

Eyes:

  1. Insert safety eyes between rows 6 and 7, about 5 stitches apart.

Smile:

  1. With black yarn, create a simple chain stitch mouth below the eyes.

Finishing Touches:

  1. Use pastel blue yarn to create little star-shaped embellishments, attaching them around the moon.
  2. Weave in all ends securely.
