Crochet Whimsical Frosty Penguin Amigurumi Free Pattern
Materials:
- Yarn in white, black, orange, and your choice of scarf color
- G/4.0 mm crochet hook
- Polyester fiberfill stuffing
- Safety eyes (10 mm)
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
- dec = decrease (sc two stitches together)
- sl st = slip stitch
- st(s) = stitch(es)
Penguin Body:
Round 1: With white yarn, make a magic ring, ch 1 and 6 sc in the ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
Round 5-9: Sc in each st (24)
Round 10: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Round 11: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Round 12: Dec around (6)
Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing. Stuff the body firmly.
Penguin Head:
Round 1: With black yarn, make a magic ring, ch 1 and 6 sc in the ring (6)
Round 2: Inc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4-6: Sc in each st (18)
Round 7: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Round 8: Dec around (6)
Finish off, stuff lightly, and sew to the body.
Penguin Wings (Make 2):
With black yarn:
Row 1: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (4)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc (3)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, dec (2)
Finish off, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew wings to the body.
Beak:
With orange yarn:
Ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch.
Finish off, sew to the head.
Eyes:
Scarf:
With your choice of color, ch 20, sc in each ch across for 3 rows. Finish off. Wrap around the penguin's neck and tie off.
Finishing Touches:
