Crochet Whimsical Cuddly Flower Patch Amigurumi Bear Free Pattern

This delightful amigurumi bear is made up of vibrant flower patch squares, creating a soft and cuddly toy perfect for children. Follow this simple pattern to crochet your own whimsical bear!

Materials Needed:

  • 6 oz Worsted weight yarn in various colors (main color, flower colors, and bear features)
  • Size G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Stuffing (polyester fiberfill)
  • Safety eyes or black embroidery thread for eyes

Finished Size:

Approximately 18 inches tall when sitting.

Stitches Used:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Half double crochet (hdc)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Magic ring (MR)

Notes:

  • Each square should measure about 4 inches by 4 inches.
  • Change colors as desired for a patchwork effect.

Pattern Instructions:

Flower Patch Squares:

Make a total of 12 flower patch squares.

  1. With main color, make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of ch 3. (12 dc total)
  3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in the same stitch, [2 dc in next stitch] 11 times. Join to the top of ch 3. (24 dc total)
  4. Round 3: Ch 1, [sc in next 2 dc, hdc in next, dc in next, 2 dc in next] 6 times. Join with a sl st.
  5. Round 4: Change to flower color, ch 1, [sc in each stitch around]. Join. Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembling Your Bear:

Use 6 squares for the body, 2 for the head, 2 for the arms, and 2 for the legs. Position squares in desired layout before sewing.

  1. Lay out squares as follows: 4 squares for the body and 1 for the stomach patch.
  2. Join squares using slip stitch or whip stitch method to form body shape.
  3. Repeat for head, arms, and legs.
  4. Stuff each part with fiberfill before completely sealing the seams.

Finishing Touches:

Stitch on safety eyes or embroider eyes with black thread for the face. You can add a small nose and mouth using embroidery thread as well. Optionally, tie a colorful ribbon around the bear’s neck for a cute finishing touch!
