Crochet Seaside Sailor Doll Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight acrylic yarn in gray, blue, orange, yellow, brown, and black.
  • Size G/4.0 mm crochet hook.
  • Fiberfill stuffing.
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Black embroidery thread for eyes.

Gauge:

Gauge is not crucial for this project. Ensure your stitches are tight enough so stuffing does not show through.

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • st(s): stitch(es)
  • inc: two single crochets in the next stitch
  • dec: single crochet decrease
  • FO: finish off

Instructions:

Head & Body:
  1. With skin color yarn, make a magic ring and work 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
  2. Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
  3. Round 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
  4. Round 3: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
  5. Continue increasing in this manner until you have 36 sts.
  6. Rounds 4-10: sc in each st around. (36 sts)
  7. Change to orange yarn for the beard.
  8. Round 11-13: sc in each st around. (36 sts)
  9. Change to blue yarn for the body.
  10. Rounds 14-20: sc in each st around. (36 sts)
  11. Round 21: (sc in next 4 sts, dec) repeat around. (30 sts)
  12. Stuff the head and continue stuffing as you go.
  13. Round 22: (sc in next 3 sts, dec) repeat around. (24 sts)
  14. Round 23: (sc in next 2 sts, dec) repeat around. (18 sts)
  15. Round 24: (sc in next st, dec) repeat around. (12 sts)
  16. Round 25: dec around. (6 sts)
  17. FO and weave in ends.
Legs (Make 2):
  1. With black yarn, make a magic ring and 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
  2. Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
  3. Rounds 2-3: sc in each st around. (12 sts)
  4. Change to yellow yarn.
  5. Rounds 4-15: sc in each st around. (12 sts)
  6. FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Arms (Make 2):
  1. With orange yarn, make a magic ring and 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
  2. Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
  3. Change to blue yarn.
  4. Rounds 2-10: sc in each st around. (12 sts)
  5. FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Hat:
  1. With gray yarn, make a magic ring and 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
  2. Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
  3. Round 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
  4. Round 3: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
  5. Round 4: (sc in next 3 sts, inc) repeat around. (30 sts)
  6. Rounds 5-7: sc in each st around. (30 sts)
  7. FO leaving a long tail.
Assembly:
  1. Using the tapestry needle, sew the legs to the bottom of the body.
  2. Sew the arms to each side of the body.
  3. Embroider eyes on the head using black embroidery thread.
  4. Attach the hat to the top of the head and secure with sewing stitches.
