Crochet Seaside Sailor Doll Pattern
Materials:
- Worsted weight acrylic yarn in gray, blue, orange, yellow, brown, and black.
- Size G/4.0 mm crochet hook.
- Fiberfill stuffing.
- Tapestry needle.
- Black embroidery thread for eyes.
Gauge:
Gauge is not crucial for this project. Ensure your stitches are tight enough so stuffing does not show through.
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- st(s): stitch(es)
- inc: two single crochets in the next stitch
- dec: single crochet decrease
- FO: finish off
Instructions:
Head & Body:
- With skin color yarn, make a magic ring and work 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
- Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Round 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
- Round 3: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
- Continue increasing in this manner until you have 36 sts.
- Rounds 4-10: sc in each st around. (36 sts)
- Change to orange yarn for the beard.
- Round 11-13: sc in each st around. (36 sts)
- Change to blue yarn for the body.
- Rounds 14-20: sc in each st around. (36 sts)
- Round 21: (sc in next 4 sts, dec) repeat around. (30 sts)
- Stuff the head and continue stuffing as you go.
- Round 22: (sc in next 3 sts, dec) repeat around. (24 sts)
- Round 23: (sc in next 2 sts, dec) repeat around. (18 sts)
- Round 24: (sc in next st, dec) repeat around. (12 sts)
- Round 25: dec around. (6 sts)
- FO and weave in ends.
Legs (Make 2):
- With black yarn, make a magic ring and 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
- Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Rounds 2-3: sc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Change to yellow yarn.
- Rounds 4-15: sc in each st around. (12 sts)
- FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Arms (Make 2):
- With orange yarn, make a magic ring and 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
- Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Change to blue yarn.
- Rounds 2-10: sc in each st around. (12 sts)
- FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Hat:
- With gray yarn, make a magic ring and 6 sc in the ring. (6 sts)
- Round 1: inc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Round 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
- Round 3: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
- Round 4: (sc in next 3 sts, inc) repeat around. (30 sts)
- Rounds 5-7: sc in each st around. (30 sts)
- FO leaving a long tail.
Assembly:
- Using the tapestry needle, sew the legs to the bottom of the body.
- Sew the arms to each side of the body.
- Embroider eyes on the head using black embroidery thread.
- Attach the hat to the top of the head and secure with sewing stitches.
