Materials:

• Chunky yarn (Bulky weight, approx. 200g)
• 6.5 mm (K) crochet hook
• Scissors

Pattern Notes:

• This pattern is worked in rounds.
• Adjust the size by changing the number of starting chains and rounds.

Instructions:

Base of the Basket:

1. Make a magic ring and chain 1 (this will not count as a stitch).
2. Round 1: Work 10 single crochet (sc) into the magic ring. Pull the ring tight to close. (10 sc)
3. Round 2: Increase in each stitch around (20 sc).
4. Round 3: *1 sc, increase* around (30 sc).
5. Round 4: *2 sc, increase* around (40 sc).
6. Continue increasing until the base measures the desired diameter.

Body of the Basket:

1. Work in continuous rounds without joining. Sc in each stitch until the body measures 8 inches (or desired height).

Twisted Top Edging:

1. Switch to a slip stitch (sl st) for the edge. Chain 2.
2. Round 1: Work sl st in each stitch around to create a firm edge.
3. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for stitching.
4. Twist the top edge for added texture and secure with tapestry needle.

Finishing:

• Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
• Block lightly if desired to shape.
