Crochet Festive Poinsettia Holiday Coasters Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in red, green, and yellow.
• Crochet hook size H/8 (5mm).
• Tapestry needle.
• Scissors.

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• hdc: half double crochet
• dc: double crochet
• sl st: slip stitch
• st(s): stitch(es)

Instructions:

Yellow Center:

1. With yellow yarn, create a magic ring.
2. Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 6 sc into the ring. Join with sl st to first sc. (6 sts)
3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Red Petals:

1. Join red yarn to any sc of the yellow center.
2. Petal 1: Ch 3, dc in the same st, 2 dc in next st, ch 3, sl st into the same st. Repeat for each petal around. (5 petals)
3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Green Leaves:

1. With green yarn, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form a ring.
2. Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc into ring, ch 2, (3 dc, ch 2) 3 times, sl st to top of ch 3. (4 clusters)
3. Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 2 sts, *(dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 space, dc in next 3 sts,* repeat from * to * 2 more times, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 space, sl st to top of ch 3.
4. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Assembly:

• Position the red flower on top of the green leaves aligning the petals between the leaf clusters.
• Secure by sewing or lightly gluing if preferred.
