Each mug rug is made with the following simple geometric patterns using basic stitches:

Rug 1: Diamond Pattern

1. With Color A, chain 25.
2. Row 1: DC in 4th chain from hook, DC in each chain across. Turn.
3. Row 2: CH 3, DC in next DC, *2 DC in next DC, 1 DC in next DC; repeat from * across.
4. Rows 3-10: Repeat Row 2, alternating colors (use Color B and C for the pattern). End with Color A.
5. Finish off and weave in ends.

Rug 2: Zigzag Pattern

1. With Color B, chain 30.
