Crochet Heart Puffs Pattern

These cute crochet heart puffs are small decorative items that can be used for gifts, home decor, or simply as a fun crochet project. Perfect for any crocheter, especially beginners!

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn in various colors (pink, red, beige, etc.)
  • 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:

Not crucial for this project, but aim for 4 inches = 16 single crochet stitches.

Abbreviations:

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • inv dec – invisible decrease
  • st(s) – stitch(es)
  • sl st – slip stitch

Heart Puff Pattern:

  1. Forming the Heart Shape: Start with a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 1, make 6 sc into the magic ring. Pull the ring tight and join with a sl st to the first sc. (6 stitches)
  3. Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (12 stitches)
  4. Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (18 stitches)
  5. Round 4: Ch 1, *sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (24 stitches)
  6. Round 5: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (30 stitches)
  7. Round 6: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (30 stitches)
  8. Round 7: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sts, inv dec* repeat from * to * until you have 18 stitches left, join with a sl st to first sc.
  9. Stuff the heart with fiberfill until it holds its shape but is not overstuffed.
  10. Round 8: Ch 1, *sc in next 2 sts, inv dec* repeat from * to * until you have 12 stitches left, join with a sl st to first sc.
  11. Round 9: Ch 1, *sc in next st, inv dec* repeat from * to * until you have 6 stitches left, join with a sl st to the first sc.
  12. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. Weave the tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close the hole.
  13. Finish off by weaving in the ends.
