  1. Start with a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
  3. Round 2: Inc around. (12 sts)
  4. Round 3: (Sc in next st, inc) around. (18 sts)

  6. Round 5: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc) around. (30 sts)
  7. Rounds 6-8: Sc around. (30 sts)
  8. Break yarn and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

  1. Place the two heart pieces together with wrong sides facing in.
  2. Using the yarn tail and tapestry needle, whip stitch around the edges to join, leaving a gap of about 1-2 inches.
  3. Stuff heart firmly with polyester fiberfill to desired plumpness.
  4. Sew the gap closed, securely fastening off the yarn.
  5. Weave in any loose ends.

Finishing

  1. Wrap a few strands of yarn around the center of the heart, securing with a knot.
  2. Sew the heart-shaped button onto the knot for decoration.
