Crochet Elegant Vintage Wavy Triangle Shawl Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approx. 200 yards)
- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge: 16 stitches and 8 rows = 4" in double crochet. Adjust hook size if necessary.
Finished Measurements: Approximately 42" across the top and 21" from top to bottom point.
Instructions:
Begin with a Foundation Chain
Chain 4 and join to form a ring.
Row 1:
- Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet).
- In the ring, make 2 double crochets.
- Chain 2, then make 3 more double crochets into the ring.
- Chain 2, join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain 3.
Row 2:
- Slip stitch to the next chain-2 space.
- Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet).
- In the same space, work 2 double crochets, chain 2, and 3 double crochets.
- In the next chain-2 space, work (3 double crochets, chain 2, 3 double crochets).
- Slip stitch to the top of the chain-3 to join.
Row 3:
- Slip to the next chain-2 space.
- Chain 3, (3 double crochets, chain 2, 3 double crochets) in the same space.
- In the next chain-2 space, work (3 double crochets, chain 2, 3 double crochets).
- Repeat across the row.
- Join with a slip stitch.
Continue Pattern:
Repeat Row 3 until your shawl reaches your desired size, remembering to add rows as necessary for width. Finish the shawl with a final slip stitch in the last chain-2 space.
Finishing:
- Weave in all ends.
- Block your shawl to open up the lace and enhance the wave pattern.
