Instructions:

Shawl Body:

1. Start by chaining 140 sts.
2. Row 1: Dc in the 5th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch; repeat from * across, turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in first ch-1 space, * ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next ch-1 space; repeat from * across, ending with a dc in the top of turning ch, turn.
4. Repeat Row 2 until the shawl measures approximately 60 inches or desired length.

Fringe:

1. Cut strands of yarn about 10 inches long.
2. Attach fringe to each ch-1 space along both short edges of the shawl by folding strand in half, inserting the fold through the space, and pulling the ends of the strand through the loop.
