Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approximately 800 yards)
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Pompom maker (optional)
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- st(s): stitch(es)
- rep: repeat
Instructions:
Shawl:
- Start by making a magic circle.
- Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), 2 dc in circle, ch 2, 3 dc in circle. Turn. (6 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in top of ch-3. Turn. (10 dc)
- Round 3: Ch 3, dc in each dc to ch-2 space, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 space, dc in each dc to end, 2 dc in top of ch-3. Turn. (14 dc)
- Repeat Round 3 until the shawl measures approximately 60 inches wide or desired width.
- Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Pom-Poms:
- Using a pom-pom maker or your preferred method, create 20-24 pom-poms.
- Attach each pom-pom evenly along the bottom edge of the shawl.
- Secure the pom-poms with a knot and weave in ends.
Finishing:
Block your shawl to smooth out any edges and bring out the stitch pattern. Enjoy your cozy, handmade shawl!
