Crochet Elegant Floral Magnolia Beanie Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn #4 in pale pink and cream (approximately 150 yds of each color)
  • 5.5mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations:

  • st(s) - stitch(es)
  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • FPdc - front post double crochet
  • BPdc - back post double crochet

Pattern:

Base Beanie:

  1. With pink, ch 4 and join to form a ring. Rnd 1: 8 sc in ring. (8 sts)
  2. Rnd 2: 2 dc in each st around. (16 sts)
  3. Rnd 3: *1 dc, 2 dc in next st* repeat around. (24 sts)
  4. Continue increasing in this manner until you have 64 sts. Switch to FPdc and BPdc ribbing for 6 more rounds.

Floral Motif (make 3):

  1. With cream, ch 5 and join to form a ring. Rnd 1: 10 sc in ring.
  2. Rnd 2: *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat around. (15 sts)
  3. Rnd 3: *1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc, 1 hdc in next st*, repeat for each petal.

Leaf Motif (make 4):

  1. With cream, ch 10. Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 4 ch, 5 dc in last ch. Continue on opposite side of ch with dc in next 4 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next 2 ch.

Assembly:

  1. Using the yarn needle, attach the floral motifs at the front center of the beanie.
  2. Position and sew the leaves around the flowers to create the magnolia effect.

Weave in all ends. Your Magnolia Beanie is now complete!
