Crochet Cozy Twisted Braided Headband Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn – #4 / worsted / afghan weight (approximately 30 yards)
• US I/ 5.5mm crochet hook
• Darning needle
• Scissors

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Single Crochet (sc)
• Half Double Crochet (hdc)
• Slip Stitch (sl st)

Gauge: 4” = 12 stitches in single crochet

Instructions:

Foundation Row

1. Ch 18 for a medium size headband (adjust chain length for different sizes).

Row 1

2. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc across (17 sc). Turn.

Row 2

3. Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch across (17 hdc). Turn.

Rows 3-10

4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 7 inches in length.

Joining

5. Fold the piece in half, joining the ends together. Sl st to join, ensuring it's not too tight.

Creating the Twist

6. To create the braid effect, take the joined ends and twist them once. Fold the twist down over the headband and sew the ends securely using the darning needle.

Finishing
