Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn: 50g in contrast color
• 4.5mm (G) crochet hook
• Yarn needle

Stitch Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• fpdc - front post double crochet
• bpdc - back post double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch

Pattern Instructions:

Base:

1. Ch 30 (or desired width).
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. (29 sc)
3. Row 2: Ch 2, turn. Dc in each sc across. (29 dc)
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn. *Sc in next st, then bpdc in next st; repeat from * across. (29 st)
5. Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures approximately 10 inches long, ending with a Row 2.

Joining:

1. Fold the rectangle in half, with the last row facing out.
2. Join the sides using sl st, starting from the bottom edge up to the halfway point.
3. Turn inside out so the seam is on the inside.

Top Border:

1. With the contrast color, ch 1, and work sc around the top edge for a neat finish. Join with a sl st.

Drawstring:

1. Ch 100 (or desired length).
2. Sc back in each ch for texture. Fasten off.
