Tropical Pineapple Bookmark Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Yellow Yarn (Medium Weight)
- Green Yarn (Medium Weight)
- Brown Yarn (Medium Weight)
- Size G/4.0 mm Crochet Hook
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st(s) = stitch(es)
Instructions:
Pineapple Body
- With yellow yarn, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring (6 sts).
- Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
- Round 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat around (18 sts).
- Round 4-6: Sc in each st (18 sts).
- Round 7: *Sc in next st, sc2tog* repeat around (12 sts).
- Round 8: Sc2tog around (6 sts).
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Green Leaves
- With green yarn, ch 10.
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (9 sts).
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, dc in next 4 sts, sc in last 4 sts (9 sts).
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Repeat to make a second leaf.
Assembly
- Sew the two leaves to the top of the pineapple body.
- Cut a piece of brown yarn around 8 inches long, fold it in half, and attach it to the top for a tassel if desired.
Final Touch:
Feel free to add eyes with black yarn or fabric paint to give your pineapple a playful look!
