Tropical Pineapple Bookmark Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Yellow Yarn (Medium Weight)
• Green Yarn (Medium Weight)

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st(s) = stitch(es)

Instructions:

Pineapple Body

1. With yellow yarn, make a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring (6 sts).
3. Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
4. Round 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat around (18 sts).
5. Round 4-6: Sc in each st (18 sts).
6. Round 7: *Sc in next st, sc2tog* repeat around (12 sts).
7. Round 8: Sc2tog around (6 sts).
8. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Green Leaves

1. With green yarn, ch 10.
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (9 sts).
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, dc in next 4 sts, sc in last 4 sts (9 sts).
4. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Repeat to make a second leaf.

Assembly

1. Sew the two leaves to the top of the pineapple body.
2. Cut a piece of brown yarn around 8 inches long, fold it in half, and attach it to the top for a tassel if desired.
