Crochet Breezy Floral Overlay Kimono Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Lightweight cotton yarn (approx. 600-800 yards)
- 4.00 mm (G) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Measuring tape
Gauge:
15 double crochets x 7 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.
Sizes:
This pattern is designed for sizes S/M and L/XL. Adjustments can be made in the number of chains for your desired size.
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- Half double crochet (hdc)
Instructions:
Back Panel:
- Chain 100 (or adjust chain length according to your size).
- Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from hook, dc across (98 dc).
- Row 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next stitch, *ch 2, skip 2 stitches, dc in next stitch; repeat from * across to last 2 stitches, ch 2, skip 1 stitch, dc in last stitch.
- Rows 3-12: Repeat Row 2 to create your flower motif pattern.
- Finish off, weave in ends.
Front Panels (Make 2):
- Chain 50 (or adjust accordingly).
- Repeat the same steps as the back panel for 10 rows.
- Finish off, weave in ends.
Assembly:
- Lay the back panel flat, and attach each front panel at the shoulders using a sl st.
- Choose your preferred method to finish the sleeves: you can leave them open for an airy look or sew a small seam for more coverage.
Trim:
- Using your hook, attach yarn at the bottom hem of the kimono. Ch 1, *sc in 1st st, ch 2, skip 1 st; repeat from * all the way around.
- Finish off, weave in all ends.
