Festive Firework Crochet Coasters

Materials Needed:

• Medium Weight Cotton Yarn (in red, white, and blue)
• 4.5 mm (G) Crochet Hook
• Yarn Needle

Gauge:

14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• sc = single crochet
• st = stitch
• sp = space

Instructions:

Base Circle:

1. Using red yarn, create a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into the magic ring. Pull the ring tight and join with sl st to the top of the ch 3. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 3, *2 dc in next st*, repeat from * to * around. Join. (24 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 3, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st*, repeat from * to * around. Join. (36 dc)

Firework Explosion Design:

1. Switch to blue yarn.
2. Round 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, sk 1, *sc in next st, ch 3, sk 1*, repeat around. Join. (12 ch-3 sp)
3. Round 5: Ch 2, dc in first ch-3 sp, *ch 1, dc in next ch-3 sp*, repeat around. Join. (12 dc)
