Crochet Whimsical Textured Floral Coasters Free Pattern

Gauge:

Gauge is 10 stitches over 7 rows in Half Double Crochet for a 4x4 inch square.

Finished Size:

Each coaster measures approximately 4 inches wide by 4 inches long.

Instructions:

Foundation:

1. Make a magic loop.
2. Chain 3 (counts as first HDC), work 11 HDC into the loop.
3. Pull the loop tight to close and slip stitch into the top of the beginning chain to join. (12 HDC)

Round 1:

1. Chain 3. In the same stitch, make 2 HDC.
2. In each of the next 11 stitches, make 2 HDC. (24 HDC)
3. Slip stitch into the top of the beginning chain to join.

Round 2:

1. Chain 2, HDC in the same stitch.
2. In the next stitch, make 2 HDC. Repeat around. (36 HDC)

Textured Petals:

1. Switch to your chosen petal color.
2. Chain 4, skip 1 stitch, slip stitch in the next stitch (this forms your petal).
3. Repeat for a total of 6 petals around the coaster, finishing with a slip stitch in the base of the first chain.

Final Round:

1. With your main color, slip stitch in each stitch around the coaster, working into the top of the petals as well.
2. Finish with a slip stitch and fasten off. Weave in all ends.
