Materials:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn: 60 yards in main color and 15 yards in contrasting color
• Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Stitch marker
• Yarn needle

Gauge:

4 dc = 1”, 4 rows = 2”

Finished Size:

Approximately 7” wide and 4” tall

Instructions:

Base:

1. Start with a magic ring and ch 2 (counts as first dc).
2. Round 1: Work 10 dc into the ring. Pull tight to close the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the first dc. (10 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 2, dc in same stitch, *2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join. (20 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join. (30 dc)

Sides:

1. Round 4: Ch 2, dc in same stitch, dc in next 2 stitches, *ch 1, skip next stitch, dc in next 3 stitches; repeat from * around. Join. (30 dc + 10 ch 1 spaces)
2. Round 5: Ch 2, dc in same stitch, *dc in next 3 dc, work 3 dc in ch 1 space; repeat from * around. Join. (30 dc)
3. Rounds 6-10: Repeat Round 5 for 5 more rounds or until desired height is reached.

Finishing:

1. Fasten off and weave in all ends using yarn needle.
2. If desired, add decorative elements such as appliqués or tassels to personalize your basket!
