Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in 4 colors (approx. 200 yards of each color)
  • Crochet Hook: 5.5mm (I-9)
  • Stitch Markers
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors

Gauge:

12 dc x 8 rows = 4 inches

Size Information:

This pattern is created to fit sizes XS to L, with a relaxed fit.

Stitches Used:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Slip Stitch (sl st)

Instructions:

Back Panel:

  1. Ch 66 (or adjust for size).
  2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (64 dc)
  3. Row 2-12: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each dc across. Turn.
  4. Change to Color B after Row 12 and repeat Rows 2-12.
  5. Continue alternating colors until you have 5 color blocks (or desired length).
  6. Fasten off, leave a long tail for seaming.

Front Panel:

  1. Repeat back panel instructions but stop at Row 8 and leave space for the neck opening:
  2. Row 9: Ch 3, dc in next 28 dc, ch 10 to create neck opening, dc in last 28 dc. Turn.
  3. Continue with alternating colors for 16 more rows.
  4. Fasten off, leave a long tail for seaming.

Sleeves (Make 2):

  1. Ch 36 (or adjust for size).
  2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.
  3. Row 2-10: Ch 3, dc in each dc across. Turn.
  4. Change to Color B after Row 10 and repeat Rows 2-10.
  5. Continue alternating colors until 6 color blocks are completed.
  6. Fasten off, leave a long tail for seaming.

Assembly:

  1. Align the front and back panels together, stitching along the sides and leaving openings for sleeves.
  2. Attach the sleeves to the openings, seaming along the armholes.
  3. Using slip stitch, add a ribbed border along the neckline, bottom hem, and sleeves.
