Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors (Color A and Color B)
• 5 mm (H) crochet hook

Gauge:

4 inches = 12 stitches and 10 rows in double crochet.

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Cluster stitch (cl): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over again, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over again, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Instructions:

1. Foundation Row: Using Color A, ch 30. Join with a sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist the chain.
2. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each chain around (total 30 dc). Join with sl st to top of ch 2.
3. Round 2: Ch 2, *dc in next 4 stitches, cl in next stitch (this creates a peak), repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
4. Round 3: Switch to Color B. Ch 2, *dc in next 4 stitches, cl in peak stitch from previous round, repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
5. Round 4: In Color A, repeat Round 2.
6. Round 5: In Color B, repeat Round 3.
7. Rounds 6-8: Alternate between Color A and Color B, as established, until the cozy measures approximately 4.5 inches high.
8. Final Round: Using Color A, ch 1, sc around each stitch for a finished edge. Join with sl st and fasten off.
9. Weave in all ends with a yarn needle.
