Crochet Textured Floral Garden Coaster Set Free Pattern
Materials:
- Worsted weight cotton yarn in cream, green, and assorted floral colors
- 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
Gauge: 16 stitches = 4 inches in double crochet
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- puff = puff stitch (yarn over, pull up a loop in same stitch, repeat 2 more times, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook)
- FL = front loop
- BL = back loop
- sl st = slip stitch
Coaster Base
With cream yarn, ch 22.
Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and across (21 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in FL across.
Row 3: Ch 2, turn. Dc in first st. *Puff in next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across, ending with a puff in the last st. (12 puff and dc pairs)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in BL across.
Repeat rows 2-4 until you have 6 rows total of textured pattern. Fasten off.
Floral Motif
Using a floral color of your choice, join yarn in any corner of the coaster base.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in the same st, then *ch 4, sc in the next st; repeat from * around, ending with a sl st in the first sc (12 petals).
Round 2: [In each ch 4 space, work a puff] around, sl st to close (12 puffs).
Switch to green yarn. Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each puff, then [sc 2 in the next st, sc in the next st]; repeat from * around. Sl st to close.
Finishing
Weave in all ends using a yarn needle. Block if desired. Make additional coasters as desired!
