Materials Needed:

• Worsted Weight Yarn (about 150 yards)
• Hook Size: H/8 (5.0 mm)
• Stitch Marker
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

14 stitches = 4 inches in single crochet

Sizes:

• Newborn - 3 months
• 3 - 6 months
• 6 - 12 months

Hat Pattern:

1. Start with a magic ring; chain 2.
2. Round 1: 12 dc into the magic ring. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the first dc.
3. Round 2: Chain 2, *2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. (24 stitches)
4. Round 3: Chain 2, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. (36 stitches)
5. Rounds 4-8: Dc in each stitch around. (36 stitches)
6. Rounds 9: Start cables; *dc in next 12 stitches, skip 2 stitches, dc in same skipped stitches. Repeat from * around.
7. Continue the cable pattern alternating with plain dc rounds until hat reaches desired length (approximately 6-7 inches).
8. Finish off and weave in ends. Add a pom-pom if desired.

Booties Pattern:

1. Starting Chain: Chain 12.
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across (11 sc). Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn.
4. Rows 3-7: Repeat Row 2.
5. Row 8: Ch 1, sc 5, ch 4, skip 4, sc 6. Turn.
