Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn (2 colors)
• Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st(s) = stitch(es)

Instructions:

Base Round: Using Color A, make a magic ring.

• Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into magic ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
• Round 2: Ch 2, dc in same st, *2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (24 dc)
• Round 3: Ch 2, dc in same st, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 dc)

Textured Twist Rows: Change to Color B.

• Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same st, *sk 2 dc, puff stitch in next st (puff stitch = yarn over, insert hook into st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, repeat 2 more times and finish with yarn over and pull through all loops on hook); repeat from * around. Join.
• Row 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, *2 sc in puff stitch, 1 sc in next 2 st; repeat from * around. Join.

Finishing:

• Fasten off and weave in all ends.
• You can add a fun fringe around the edge by cutting lengths of yarn and knotting them into each stitch along the outer edge.
