Materials:

• Approx. 400 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn in natural brown
• Size H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:

Base:

1. Ch 41.
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (40 sc). Turn.
3. Rows 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn.
4. Do not turn after Row 5. Working in rounds, sc around the entire rectangle, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.

Body:

1. Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join with sl st.
2. Round 2-35: Repeat Round 1.

Handles:

1. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first 10 sc, ch 50 (for handle), skip next 20 sc, sc in next 20 sc, ch 50, skip next 20 sc, sc in remaining 10 sc. Turn.
2. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc and ch across. Turn.
3. Rows 3-4: Repeat Row 2.

Finishing:

Fasten off and weave in ends using a tapestry needle.
