Materials:

• Red worsted weight yarn

• Polyfill stuffing

Gauge is not critical for this pattern. The finished heart is approximately 3 inches wide.

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase (2 sc in same stitch)
• dec - decrease (sc 2 together)
• st - stitch
• sl st – slip stitch
• rnd - round

Instructions:

Heart (Make 2):

1. Start with a magic ring. Round 1: Work 6 sc in the magic ring. (6 sts)
2. Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. Round 3: (Sc in next st, inc) 6 times. (18 sts)
4. Round 4: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc) 6 times. (24 sts)
5. Round 5: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc) 6 times. (30 sts)
6. Round 6: Sc in each st around. (30 sts)
7. Round 7-9: Repeat Round 6.
8. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave in other end.

Assembly:

1. Place the two heart pieces together, lining up the stitches.
2. Using the long tail and tapestry needle, sew around the edges, leaving a small opening.
3. Stuff the heart with polyfill until it is plump to your liking.
4. Finish sewing the opening, fasten off, and weave in the end.
