Crochet Playful Tropical Fruit Jar Cozy Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in various colors (yellow, green, and orange)
  • Crochet hook size H/8 (5mm)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Mason jars (wide mouth recommended)

Gauge: 4” x 4” = 16 stitches x 14 rows in double crochet (dc)

Instructions:

Base:

  1. Chain 3 and join with a slip stitch (sl st) to form a ring.
  2. Round 1: Chain 2 (counts as first dc), make 11 dc into the ring. Join with sl st in top of first dc. (12 dc)
  3. Round 2: Chain 2, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (18 dc)
  4. Round 3: Chain 2, *dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (24 dc)
  5. Round 4: Chain 2, *dc in next 3 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (30 dc)
  6. Round 5: Chain 1, sc in each stitch around. Join with sl st.

Body:

  1. Round 6: Chain 2, dc in the same stitch, and in each stitch around. Join with sl st.
  2. Rounds 7-10: Repeat Round 6. (30 dc each round)

Top Leaf Decor (vary according to fruit):

  • For Pineapple: Use green yarn. Chain 5, sl st back to base to form a leaf. Repeat 4 times, evenly spaced.
  • For Mango: Use orange yarn. Chain 3, sl st back to base, repeat twice for a single leaf effect.

Finishing Touches:

  1. Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
  2. Place on your mason jar filled with treats, utensils, or a decorative candle!
