Festive Woven Twine Napkin Holder

Materials:

  • Worsted weight cotton yarn in red, white, and blue
  • Size G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Gauge:

Approximately 4 inches in diameter for each circular base.

Instructions:

Base:

  1. With red yarn, make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Chain 1, 6 single crochet (sc) into the ring. Join with a slip stitch (sl st) to the first sc.
  3. Round 2: Chain 1, 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc). Join.
  4. Round 3: Chain 1, *1 sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch* repeat around (18 sc). Join.
  5. Round 4: Chain 1, *1 sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch* repeat around (24 sc). Join.
  6. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Side Wall:

  1. Attach white yarn to the first stitch of the last round.
  2. Chain 1, sc in each stitch around until height is 2 inches. Join.
  3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Decorative Fringe:

  1. Cut lengths of blue yarn approximately 6 inches long.
  2. Using a yarn needle, fold yarn strands in half and knot them to the base of the side wall to create fringe around the napkin holder.

Finishing:

  1. Block the entire napkin holder to shape.
  2. Optional: Add buttons or embroidery as per your style preference.

Assembly:

Once each piece is complete, assemble them as shown. You can create multiple holders to build a cohesive table setting for your celebrations!
