Materials Needed:

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in red, green, cream, and gold (approximately 200 yards each)

Stitches Used:

Finished Size:

Approximately 14 inches wide and 40 inches long

Instructions:

Patchwork Square (make 8 total - 2 in each color)

Color A (Red):

1. Ch 21.
2. Row 1: Hdc in the 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. (19 hdc)
3. Row 2: Ch 2, turn. Dc in each st across.
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
5. Row 4: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 two more times (should have 3 complete pattern rows).
6. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Repeat for remaining colors (Green, Cream, Gold), alternating the rows for variety.

Joining Squares:

1. Arrange the squares in a desired patchwork layout.
2. Using the whip stitch, sew squares together on the edges, ensuring a smooth transition between colors.

Border:

1. Attach any color yarn at a corner of the patchwork.
2. Ch 1, sc evenly around the entire edge, placing 3 sc in each corner for a nice curve.
3. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
