Crochet Festive Gnome Bookmark Free Pattern

Materials

• 3 colors of cotton yarn (red, white, gray)
• Crochet hooks 2.75 mm and 1.8 mm
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Instructions

Gnome Hat

1. Using red yarn and 2.75 mm hook, ch 2.
2. Rnd 1: 6 SC in second ch from hook. (6 sts)
3. Rnd 2-10: SC in each st around, increasing 1 st every two rounds until you have 20 sts.
4. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Beard and Nose

1. Using white yarn, create a magic ring.
2. Rnd 1: 6 SC in the ring, pull tight. (6 sts)
3. Rnd 2: *SC, 2 SC in next st* around. (9 sts)
4. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
5. For nose, using white yarn, ch 2. Rnd 1: 4 SC in second ch from hook. Fasten off.

Bookmark Body

1. With gray yarn, ch 8.
2. Row 1: SC in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (7 sts)
3. Rows 2-35: Ch 1, turn. SC in each st across. (7 sts)
4. Fasten off, leaving an end for attaching tassel.

Tassel

1. Cut strands of red, white, and gray yarn about 6 inches long.
2. Hold together, fold in half and attach to end of bookmark.
3. Trim ends evenly.

Assembly

1. Sew the hat onto the beard piece.
2. Attach nose onto the beard under the hat line.
3. Sew the assembled gnome onto the top end of the bookmark.
