Crochet Elegant Textured Lace Cocoon Shrug Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • 400 yards of lightweight yarn (suggested: cotton blend)
  • Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

6 stitches and 4 rows = 4 inches in double crochet (DC) stitch pattern.

Instructions:

Back Panel:

  1. Chain 52 (or adjust for desired width).
  2. Row 1: DC in 4th chain from hook, *chain 2, skip 2 chains, DC in next chain; repeat from * across. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as first DC), *DC in chain-2 space, chain 2; repeat from * across. Turn.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 24 inches in length or desired length.

Front Panels (make 2):

  1. Starting the same as the back panel, chain 26.
  2. Follow the same instructions as for the back panel for 12 inches or desired length.

Assembly:

  1. Place the back panel flat, then position the two front panels on top, aligning the bottom edges.
  2. Using slip stitch, seam the front panels to the back panel, leaving the top open for arms.
  3. Secure all loose ends using your tapestry needle.

Finishing Touches:

Block your cocoon shrug to enhance the lace pattern and drape. Enjoy pairing with your favorite outfits!
