Crochet Elegant Shamrock Potholder Free Pattern

Materials Needed
- Worsted weight yarn in green and white
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5mm)
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- ch - chain
- sl st - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- hdc - half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
Instructions
Leaf Section (Make 3)
- With green yarn, ch 4, sl st to form a ring.
- Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), 11 hdc in ring, sl st to top of ch 2. (12 hdc)
- Round 2: Ch 2, *hdc in same st, 2 hdc in next st*, repeat * to * around, sl st to top of ch 2. (24 hdc)
- Round 3: Ch 2, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st*, repeat * to * around, sl st to top of ch 2. (36 hdc)
Stem Section
- With green yarn, ch 13.
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off.
Finishing
- Arrange the three leaves in a shamrock shape and sew them together at the center.
- Attach the stem at the bottom of the leaves.
- With white yarn, join at any point of the shamrock and sc around the entire edge, making sure to evenly space your stitches. Fasten off and weave in ends.
- Create a loop at the top for hanging: Ch 15, sl st back into the starting point and fasten off.
Notes
Be sure to block your finished potholder to ensure it lies flat.
